Zita's started with a craving and a big dream during lockdown.

Riccardo the guy who greets you with a "ciao bella/o" the moment you step in, and Sara the creative hand working her magic behind the scenes, From  Rome and Genoa, two cities where street food is a way of life and many years in Michelin start and fine dining restaurant, were stuck at home missing the Italian street food the grew up on. With no way to hop on a plane they decided to bring it right here in Melbourne.

 Inspired by Nonna Zita's love for food and hospitality and after years of living abroad, they’ve also picked up a love for Melbourne’s modern, free-spirited energy. Zita’s is the ultimate mash-up of these two worlds: Italian tradition meets Melbourne cool.

It’s all about sharing the good vibes, big flavours, and that warm Italian hospitality (because Italians love feeding people). Whether you’re here for a quick bite or to soak in the chill atmosphere, Riccardo and Sara’s goal is to give you a little taste of Italy with a Melbourne twist.

OUR FOCCACIA

 At Zita's, we are truly obsessed with focaccia!

Ever wonder why our focaccia is so light, easy to digest, and never heavy on your stomach? The secret lies in our process: we use premium quality Italian flour, a remarkable 80% hydration, and let it be sit for a full 48 hours. This creates the perfect balance between the bread and its filling, delivering a texture and flavour that’s unmatched.

Our experienced team adds that extra touch with their skilled hands, ensuring every focaccia is crafted to perfection and baked every day for you.

GLUTEN-FRIENDLY FOCACCIA

Our GF focaccia is crafted using premium Italian ingredients and baked fresh in-house. What sets our gf focaccia apart is its unique softness, unlike the chewy texture often found in others.

We regret that it cannot be certified coeliac-friendly due to limited space in our kitchen and the presence of airborne flour.
